Driving Forces | Barriers |
- The senior class will get a change to hangout with each other as a whole - Students will get to know each other better before graduating - Everyone who attends will feel loved by there class (everyone will get a gift) - It can build friendship within the senior class - Students will be reminded that school can be fun - Everyone will have a great time and will influence them to attend future school events | -Finding a cheap restaurant that also big enough for parties -Transportation -Not having a mentor to look over the party -Getting enough people to help plan, set up and clean up -Not enough people knowing about the party. |
Top 3 barriers I will attempt to change:
- Not enough people knowing about the party and its goal
- Transportation/ finding the right restaurant
- Getting people to plan, set up and clean up (if necessary)
I will be asking everyone in the senior class about their preferences, this way, at least everybody knows what is going on. When final decision have been made, i will also be announcing the get together in the NOTAM. For those that don't pay attention during the NOTAM, i will also be going around telling people about the party so that i make sure that everyone in the senior class knows about it.
Doing this, I will be able to control the issues that can arise because everybody will at least know that there is someone pplanning a get together before winter break and using multiple sources to spread the word will ensure that someone who doesn't read the NOTAM will still know about the party and vice versa. I will also make sure to regularly update people so that they know what final plans are. Once everything has been finalize, I'll give one last notice to the senior class (either talking to them one on one or going to advisories) and ask if they are attending or not.
Barrier #2: Transportation and finding a restaurant
I know that transportation will be a problem in these kinds of events because not everyone lives in the same place and not everyone will have transportation to attend the party. To make sure that this issue doesn't stop me in accomplishing this plan, i will be asking the people who don't have transportation, where they live. If someone lives nearby/ one the way and is willing to carpool, then I'll ask them if they can pick up a few students on the way and back. If there's a group of student living in the same area and they all do not have transportation, then I'll arrange for them to take the bus as a group. To make things easier, all of those that are going to take the bus can meet up as a group right after school and everyone can take the bus together.
As for restaurants, it will be impossible to find the perfect restaurant that is close to everyone, because like i said before, not everyone lives in the same area. What i can do is pick an area that is well known to everyone so they at least know where the restaurant is located. Right now I'm thinking either a restaurant by AHS or in Southcenter (those two places are both fairly familiar to everyone). I will also be asking around to see what people's preference on food is and there price range. This will help me pick a restaurant that suits most people.
Barrier 3: Getting people to plan, set up and clean up (if necessary)
The party may be a great idea but set up and clean up may be a dread to many people. Finding someone to do those things might be hard but these things are necessary. To reduce the amount of time that we will have to spend on clean up and set up, i will try to pick a place that's will to clean up after us and if not, then i will make sure that the place is kept somewhat clean during the course of the party (everyone picking up after themselves and keeping scraps to a minimum). I will be in charge of both set up and clean up so there will be at least one person doing it and i can make sure to pulls some close Friends to come early and stay back to help with set up and clean up. I will be constantly reminding the set up and clean up people about their job so they don't forget about it and in the unlikely chances that they do forget, I will be willing to do it all by myself.
That way I can ensure that at least someone is setting up and the party will be ready to go by the time people arrive. I (and others helping out) will also be there with enough time to set up so we don't need to rush and end up forgetting to do some specific things.
